Hiroshima - Nagasaki
3min, sound, color
Tsutomu Yamaguchi survived both the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
This film reflects on the voices of his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandson as they pass down his testimony, alongside other double atomic bomb survivors sharing their own experiences.
How can those of us who did not experience the bombing inherit and continue to pass on these memories?
Intersecting with records of the Daigo Fukuryu Maru and Kochi tuna fishing boats exposed to fallout at Bikini Atoll, this work contemplates the future of remembering and storytelling.
Originally created for the "Creating Expression from Records" workshop held at the Daigo Fukuryu Maru Exhibition Hall.
This film was produced based on the feature documentary film "Twice Bombed, Twice Survived"which I worked on as an editor.
